As you may have noticed, the Daily Logs have ceased. The reason is I HATE food logging. It triggers a diet mentality and then I start resisting being on a "diet."
This way of eating is not a "diet" in the commonly-used meaning of the word - to restrict calories for a set period of time in order to lose weight. That is not my purpose in eating this way (no oil-added, whole foods, plant-based).
I am not on a calorie-restricted diet to lose weight. I am eating a healthful way to allow my body to be the healthiest it can be, which does include being at the appropriate weight. However, when I get to that weight, I won't suddenly go off the "diet" and change the way I'm eating, which would mean going back to junk food or animal products. That would not maintain good health or a good weight!
Eating the right foods should not be full of effort. There is no reason to count calories or go hungry. Due to the naturally low caloric density of most whole plant-based foods, I can eat enough to be satisfied and still lose weight! Being forced to write everything down makes me, ironically, start rebelling the way I would if I were following a starve-yourself diet. It's not productive for me so I stopped doing it...and stopped rebelling.
